Charging home to post an impressive victory in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) first-up a fortnight ago, Hallowed Crown has opened as and maintained status as favourite in 2015 Randwick Guineas betting markets, currently available at odds of $2.90 with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Debuting with a comfortably victory in a minor event before taking out the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes (1200m) on Day 1 of The Championships last year, Hallowed Crown returned to racing in slick form in spring; winning the Group 3 Run To The Rose (1200m) first-up before breaking through for a maiden victory at the highest level in the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) on September 13th.

Allocated the rails draw and confirmed to be partnered by leading jockey Hugh Bowman, the Street Sense colt is more than worth consideration for a Randwick Guineas bet this weekend.

A Group 1 winner over a mile having taken out last year’s edition of the Caulfield Guineas, Shooting To Win is likely to receive the run of the race from barrier 2, and remains outright second favourite for success in the Randwick Guineas at even $3 odds.

Taking out a pair of minor sprints over winter before returning to the paddock, Shooting To Win beat just one runner home in the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes (1300m) upon resuming in spring, but quickly found form in placing second in the Group 3 Ming Dynasty Quality (1400m) and third in the Golden Rose.

Returning to the winner’s circle in the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes (1500m) in his only other start prior to his Caulfield Guineas triumph, the Northern Meteor colt boxed on for a credible fourth in the Hobartville Stakes first-up and appears primed for a return to the winner’s circle.

Sweynesse produced arguably his most impressive performance to date when sweeping home for a close second in the Hobartville Stakes first-up, and as a result offers punters exceptional value for money in Randwick Guineas betting markets at $4 for success.

Winning each of his first four race starts including both the Group 3 Spring Stakes (1600m) and Group 3 Gloaming Stakes (1800m), Sweynesse ran well for third in the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) on October 11th and ended his debut preparation a credible eighth in the major Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) after posting the fastest final section of all 14 runners.

Charged with overcoming the outside gate, the son of Lonhro is sure to receive a gem of a ride from jockey James McDonald.
