Press Statement is undoubtedly the class horse of the field and remains clear $1.50 favourite in 2016 Royal Randwick Guineas betting markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Stamping himself as a colt to follow upon debuting to racing in late autumn last year, Press Statement impressively broken through for a maiden win at the highest level in the Group 1 JJ Atkins (1600m) at Doomben in only his third competitive start.

Resuming in spring for a close second in the Group 2 Run To The Rose (1200m), the Hinchinbrook colt failed to fire in the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) but responded with impressive and consecutive wins in the Group 2 Stan Fox Stakes (1500m) and Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m).

Having defeated many of his Randwick Guineas rivals with ease in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) first-up a fortnight ago, Press Statement will be very hard to beat on Saturday with regular hoop Hugh Bowman in the saddle.

Stay With Me has received steady support in 2016 Randwick Guineas betting markets since being confirmed as the race’s sole filly; cutting from a quote of $8.50 to currently rest as $7.50 second-favourite.

Stay With Me beat a particularly talented field to the line in the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m) early in her Spring Carnival campaign, and while failing to fire in the Group 2 Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m), produced an impressive effort to take out the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) a fortnight later.

Returning to the paddock after placing sixth in the Group 1 Myer Classic (1600m), the Street Cry filly resumed this time for fifth in the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) before running third in the Group 2 Surround Stakes (1400m) last weekend.

Interestingly figuring as the only other runner currently available at Royal Randwick Guineas odds of less-than $10, Montaigne ($9.5) produced an impressive effort to finish third in the Hobartville Stakes a fortnight ago and should receive a dream run from barrier 3.

Montaigne debuted to racing for second in the Schweppes Maiden Plate (1100m) on January 7th and won each of his next two starts with ease, leading into the Hobartville Stakes.

Le Romain savaged the line for second in the Hobartville Stakes and has continued to receive huge support in 2016 Randwick Guineas betting markets; cutting in from $18 odds to figure as clear $14 third-favourite.
